It has been a very long while since I have had the personal energy to write a blog post. Since the last few weeks of 2013 we have been dealing with some very difficult circumstances - circumstances that we wish to remain private and personal until a later date. We, as a family, are doing well and are very much intact. It hasn't been easy for any of us around here, but we are here, together, and as strong a family unit as we have ever been.
Not that many of you reading this have been waiting for a blog post, but I did want to clear up why there hasn't been one since late last year. We are now into May, and this will probably continue into late summer and early fall, with the beginning of the school year looking like things may back to normal - you know, autism normal.
It's been a long haul, often dark and difficult, sometimes not, but we are moving forward, day by day, moment by moment. Sometimes, though, even the almighty trials and tribulations of life with autism have to take a back seat to some of the other challenges that life can present. Right now, autism is in the backseat, safely secured, sometimes letting us know that it hasn't gone away, but it's just not the primary focus of our lives right now.
I know some of you understand this very well.
Thank you for being here. And we promise to be back. Just let us get through this stuff right now. Hope to see you then :)
